At the present time, Hope Pregnancy Centers are providing ultrasound services at the North Center three days per week and at the South Center two days per week. In the past few months, we have seen an increase in the number of clients coming to our centers who are either planning to abort or are undecided and considering abortion. All of these clients are offered a limited ultrasound.

One of these clients was *Kara. She came in for a pregnancy test at our North Center and requested information about abortion. Her pregnancy test was positive and she was very unhappy about being pregnant. She said the father of the baby would be happy if he knew but she hadn't told him because she was undecided about what she wanted to do regarding the pregnancy. She also stated that she didn't want her family and friends to know that she was pregnant.

She was told about the opportunity to have an ultrasound and scheduled an appointment at the South Center because it was more convenient for her. When she came for the ultrasound, she was still undecided about continuing the pregnancy.

During the ultrasound, she observed her 10 week baby on the screen. As she was watching, her baby started kicking and waving its arms. She said, "How could I not carry this baby after seeing that?" Kara left that day stating she was going to parent and join the Earn While You Learn program. She is now in prenatal care as her pregnancy continues to progress.

We are so thankful that God is able to use Hope Pregnancy Centers and the Medical Services to touch young mother's hearts, like Kara's, with the reality of the child they carry. We are also thankful that these women who are abortion-minded are coming to our Centers for their pregnancy tests.

We believe these are divine appointments of God, and our continuing prayer is that we will be used by Him to accomplish His purpose.

All Pregnancy Medical Clinics in the Option Ultrasound Program provide limited obstetrical ultrasound as medically indicated. Clinics are licensed to operate under the supervision of a physician, using only trained sonographers. Focus on the Family does not endorse the use of ultrasound outside of a medical clinic setting and does not endorse the use of ultrasound for non-medical reasons. Patient referrals are made to physicians for follow-up diagnosis and care as needed.
